About

Hi, I am Audsley and I am the founder of Audsley Sarah Designs.

Audsley Sarah Designs was created out of the need to support home sewists and fiber artists in advancing their dreams through education, support and providing the tools to carry out the task.

Sourcing tailors tools, hard to find fibre arts tools and education to further your sewing and fibre arts skills can be limited without embarking on formal education in fashion or textiles. Audsley Sarah Designs has been founded to bridge this gap in an inclusive environment, supporting all sizes, gender inclusivity, and learning needs.

A little about me. I was raised in a home where my mum was always sewing and creating. My wardrobe growing up was “mum made” and I would spend my spare time in the sewing room as mum created garments, cross-stitch artwork, curtains and home decor.

I was given my first sewing machine (a 99K singer) when I was six years old, but it wasn’t until I was 22 when I started to make my own “me made” clothes after embarking into the professional world where clothes just didn’t fit right. My mum passed away when I was 15, and dad insisted I make use of her sewing machine (a 1997 Brother Galaxy), the same sewing machine I sew on today.

I am self taught, but have been told sewing and making is in the genes. I have been teaching sewing for nearly a decade, with fiber arts and mending a natural extension over the past three years. I love interacting and adapting the environment to serve each individual persons learning style and needs.

Outside of Audsley Sarah Designs I am studying towards my second (yes second) PhD in neuroscience/neuropsychology (my first PhD being in Structural Engineering).

I hope I can support you in your creative journey and feel free to reach out with any questions.
