Introduction to Quilting

Time: 9am - 4pm
Date: 21st February 2026
Cost: $150

This one day workshop will teach you all the basics skills to create your own quilts.
Quilting techniques will be taught through a 4 x 4 quilted cushion
- basic terminology
- cutting fabric
- piecing and sewing rectangular and triangular pieces together to form blocks (and tricks to get sharp points)
- sewing blocks together
- basting backing and batting to main quilt
- quilting with a regular sewing machine foot
- quilting with a walking foot

You will be required to supply your own quilting cotton for this course (approximately $25), batting, cushion inner, tools and machine use are included. A fabric shopping list will be emailed closer to the workshop time.

Class sizes are limited to four students allowing for one on one support and student specific tailored teaching.
